The ticket prices listed below are for the BFX Festival Speaker Series, which includes access to all sessions over the three days from Tuesday, 29 October to Thursday, 31 October, at The Hilton in Bournemouth.

Family Day
This year, we’re excited to bring back the much-loved BFX Family Day! It’s specially designed for kids aged 8- 16 years and will be packed with fun interactive workshops. Join us at Talbot Campus in our Poole Gateway Building, where you’ll find industry-standard facilities and tech.
Tickets are just £10 per child, and up to 1 accompanying adult can join for free. We can’t wait for you to have a blast with us!

Frequently Asked Questions
+ Who can attend Masterclasses? Do I need any prior knowledge?
Masterclasses are relevant to anyone aged 16+ who has a passion to expand their skills and knowledge in VFX, games and animation.
Please check the programme which shows the level of experience each masterclass is relevant for. There’s something for everyone!
+ Will the Speaker Series be recorded?
You lucky lot will be seeing some exclusive materials, so due to copyright of these materials being shown recordings won’t be made.
+ Will I be able to watch online?
For this event, we’re excited to welcome everyone in person only! We’re looking forward to seeing you there and enjoying the experience together. #BFXCommunity.
+ Cancellation policy
To secure your booking payment card details are taken at the time of reservation.
Cancellation is required at least 48 hours in advance of your booked event.
If before you are due to arrive you start experiencing symptoms of Covid19 please do not travel to BU. Please contact us to discuss your booking.
Refunds will not be provided in the case of non-arrival.
+ What should I do on arrival?
+ Parking
Hilton Bournemouth: There are pay and display car parks nearby the Hilton in Bournemouth town centre.
Talbot Campus, Bournemouth University: Free on campus parking will be available for attendees, there will be further information provided to you in advance of the event.
+ Phones and devices
Whether you are using the latest iPhone or the oldest Nokia, the latest drawing tech, or a classic sketchbook please make sure all tech is switched off or on silent during your visit.
+ Smoking / vaping
Smoking and vaping is not permitted inside any of our buildings. Smoking is not permitted on Talbot Campus – we are a smoke free university.
+ Catering
Hilton Bournemouth: THAT BAR DOWNSTAIRS is a stylish and relaxed bar located on the ground floor of the hotel serving a tasty selection of light snacks and coffees throughout the day.
Talbot Campus, Bournemouth: We have numerous outlets across the campus where you can purchase food and drink to enjoy.
Monday-Friday: Starbucks 08:00-18:00 | Naked Coffee 09:00 – 17:00 | Fusion Canteen (various hot food options) 08:00 – 18:00 | Student Union Shop 08:30 – 16:00

You’re welcome to bring your own refreshments, there are numerous places to sit and relax throughout the campus.

We want to make our campuses and facilities as accessible as possible for students, staff and visitors, and we work hard to ensure we meet the varied needs of everyone.

+ Fire Safety #exitbuddy
Hilton Bournemouth: Fire exists and procedures will be managed by Hilton staff.
Talbot Campus, Bournemouth: We want to make our campuses and facilities as accessible as possible for students, staff and visitors, and we work hard to ensure we meet the varied needs of everyone.
- Ensure you are familiar with the location of fire exits and the meeting point. This is displayed in all rooms.
- Please advise the University prior to the event if you would require additional support in the event of a fire.
- If you discover a fire, please raise the alarm, evacuate your group immediately and report to the nearest meeting point.
- At the meeting point, advise the BU Fire Warden if all members of your group are present.
- Fire alarm tests are carried out weekly, on Wednesday mornings on the Talbot Campus. They will last approximately 30 seconds. If the alarm sounds for longer than this, it should be treated as real.
- Do not exceed the set capacity of the room or move furniture/equipment in a way that will block exits.
In an emergency, always call 222 from an internal phone or 01202 962222 from a mobile and a member of reception or security staff will coordinate with emergency services to ensure smooth access to the University buildings. Emergency procedures and health & safety information are displayed in all rooms.
+ Accident Reporting
Please report any accidents or incidents to the BU Events team (buevents@bournemouth.ac.uk) as soon as possible. You will be asked to help complete an Accident Report Form.
