With over 15 years of experience in computer graphics, vision and AI research, I am passionate about advancing the frontiers of artificial intelligence (AI) for the creative industries and mixed reality (MR) for immersive and collaborative experiences. As a Principal Scientist and Science/Engineering Manager at Microsoft, I lead an amazing team working on AI features for Mesh, a platform that enables people to connect and work together from anywhere. As a Professor at the University of Bath, I founded CAMERA – a premier motion capture research centre – have collaborated across the creative sector.
In my current role at Microsoft, I am responsible for researching, developing, and productising technologies that enhance presence and collaboration in MR, such as avatars, generative AI, and image registration. I create innovative solutions that empower users to interact and communicate naturally and seamlessly across devices and platforms.

The University of Bath is a public research university in Bath, England. It received its royal charter in 1966, along with a number of other institutions following the Robbins Report. Like the University of Bristol and University of the West of England, Bath can trace its roots to the Merchant Venturers’ Technical College, established in Bristol as a school in 1595 by the Society of Merchant Venturers. The university’s main campus is located on Claverton Down, a site overlooking the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath, and was purpose-built, constructed from 1964 in the modernist style of the time.
