In 2026, we continue with the BFX Film Festival, giving you the opportunity to showcase your work and compete for awards in New Talent, Experimental, VFX, and Best National and International entries.

Young creatives can also come and be inspired at our family day filled with workshops and screenings.

The BFX Film Festival!

We’re thrilled to announce a new call for Animation, VFX, AI (or AI assisted) and Generative Art short films. Our judges last year completed an epic quest and selected an amazing lineup of films! Submit your work in order to be part of the the BFX Animation and Film Festival 2026 and show the world your creativity and imagination!

From laugh-out-loud comedies to mind-bending sci-fi horror zombie flicks, to Generative Art our program will feature a delightful mix of high quality shorts. We want to see captivating animation documentaries and experimental pieces that push the boundaries of creativity, plus, showcasing a stunning variety of styles—2D, 3D, and special effects galore!

Join us on June the 3rd 2026 at Poole Lighthouse Cinema for a day filled with jaw-dropping visuals and unforgettable stories. Whether you’re a an animation creator/director, a VFX artist, or a Generative Art practioner, make sure your are part of this year’s BFX Animation and Film Festival exciting lineup.
