Talbot Campus, Bournemouth: We want to make our campuses and facilities as accessible as possible for students, staff and visitors, and we work hard to ensure we meet the varied needs of everyone.
- Ensure you are familiar with the location of fire exits and the meeting point. This is displayed in all rooms.
- Please advise the University prior to the event if you would require additional support in the event of a fire.
- If you discover a fire, please raise the alarm, evacuate your group immediately and report to the nearest meeting point.
- At the meeting point, advise the BU Fire Warden if all members of your group are present.
- Fire alarm tests are carried out weekly, on Wednesday mornings on the Talbot Campus. They will last approximately 30 seconds. If the alarm sounds for longer than this, it should be treated as real.
- Do not exceed the set capacity of the room or move furniture/equipment in a way that will block exits.
In an emergency, always call 222 from an internal phone or 01202 962222 from a mobile and a member of reception or security staff will coordinate with emergency services to ensure smooth access to the University buildings. Emergency procedures and health & safety information are displayed in all rooms.
