Tessa Mapp is a freelance CG artist, specialising in Lighting and Look development in full CG animation.

Graduating with a first class degree from the NCCA in 2003, Tessa went on to work at Animal Logic, Weta Digital and Aardman Animations as well as many smaller studios, gaining valuable experience on a wide variety of productions and within differing working environments.

Having worked in London, Bristol, Vancouver, Sydney and Wellington, Tessa has experienced the nomadic lifestyle, and more recently the joys, juggle and compromises of parenthood.

While in Canada in 2012 she worked as senior lighter and in 2015 she turned to specialist recruitment for Aardman’s CGI department, both roles were part time enabling her to focus more on life with a young family.

In 2016 Tessa returned to freelancing in Bristol after a short period of re-training and as a sideline has dedicated more time to mentoring having set up www.cgmentor.co.uk. She is also heavily involved in the growing Bristol VFX and Animation scene, organising a popular quarterly social meet up, and associated LinkedIn group, which aims to support local freelancers and studios.
