Richard Haynes

Richard, having graduated in BA (Hons) Film & Animation Production at Arts University Bournemouth in 2003, has since worked as a professional Stop Motion Animator at a variety of UK studios, including Cosgrove Hall Films and Aardman Animations. Projects include a wide range of pre-school television series’, such as ‘Little Robots’, ‘Fifi and the Flowertots’, ‘Postman Pat’, ‘Roary the Racing Car’ and ‘Rupert Bear’. At Aardman he worked primarily on ‘Shaun the Sheep’, but also on a string of feature films, including ‘The Pirates: In an Adventure With Scientists’, ‘Shaun the Sheep Movie’ and, most recently, Nick Park’s ‘Early Man’. Since 2012 he has primarily worked as a Senior Lecturer on the BA Animation Production course, back at Arts University Bournemouth, and regularly takes sabbaticals, enabling him to remain current and active within the animation industry. He has also recently completed his MA in Animation at London Metropolitan University, where he has specialized in creating installation work centered around nostalgia, simulation and simulacra, combining animation with theatre. This will form the basis of further research to come.
