Maria Almena


Maria Almena is a Creative director and Art Curator with 15 years of experience creating unique experiential events with a strong focus in interactive installations and media performance art. She is the founder and Creative director of the pioneering London based creative studio, Kimatica as well as founder and art curator for Community for Social Interest company Art in Flux London. Furthermore, she works as a costume and character designer for different clients in the events and advertising sector.
Selected Past Clients: Instagram, British Council, Veuve Clicquot, Tate Museum, Smirnoff, Nissan, Cadbury, MTV, Barbican Centre, St Johns Hospital, Marriott and Mandrake Hotels, Contraband, Golin and Seen Presents Agencies and many festivals such as Glastonbury, Wilderness, Jerusalem, Lightwaves, BCN LLum and Science Athens festival.
Kimatica is a London-based creative studio specialised in creating avant-garde immersive digital experiences by fusing live performance, interactive technology and the human form. Their art statement explores concepts of human consciousness and perception, and endorses the sublimation of transcendental ideas to a modern audience. We also offer our skills and vision to commercial clients, where we translate our concepts and ideas into more accessible experiences that connect with a wider public.
