Art Director and Co-Founder - Media Molecule

Kareem Ettouney is the Art Director and a Co-Founder of Media Molecule, the band of creative minds behind the hugely successful and innovative LittleBigPlanet game franchise. The studio is currently working on the hotly anticipated PS4 title Dreams, which lets players create games, art, music, animation – anything – from their own living room. With his background in film, theatre production and costume design as well as fine art & oil painting, Ettouney’s style blends the traditional with technology and has brought Dream’s unique and impressionistic art tools to life.
Media Molecule is a video game development studio based in the bustling market town of Guildford, an unexpected leafy hub for British games development! Founded in 2006 by a group of like-minded friends looking for new creative challenges, Media Molecule has grown from humble beginnings to becoming one of the industry’s most pioneering developers, constantly pushing the boundaries between the player and the creator.
Whilst maintaining a small family feel Media Molecule has gone on to develop the multi-award winning, critically acclaimed titles LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet 2, Tearaway and Tearaway Unfolded. Each game crafted with a big dose of love and lots of hard work, the studio has constantly aimed to tell beautiful and compelling stories which give players the power to go forth and create their own adventures and their own worlds.
Now in their 10th year, Media Molecule are setting their sights even higher with their ambitious new title Dreams, for PlayStation 4 – a spiritual successor to LittleBigPlanet. Currently available in Early Access, Dreams offers players the power to create more than just games… art, music, films, animations, sculpture and more…
