Animation Supervisor - Sony Pictures imageworks

Joshua Beveridge is an animation supervisor at Sony Pictures Imageworks, most recently completing work on the Academy Award ®-winning Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. Beveridge joined Imageworks in 2005 and his credits include: Storks, Hotel Transylvania 2, Alice In Wonderland, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, I Am Legend, Surf’s Up, Open Season, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and Arthur Christmas. He received a Visual Effects Society Award for his contribution to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and a nomination for I Am Legend.

Sony Pictures Imageworks is the Academy Award®-winning visual effects and animation unit of Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group known for photoreal live-action visual effects, dynamic creature and character animation and full-CG features. The company, headquartered in Vancouver, B.C., has created visuals for more than 100 live-action and animated productions over its 26-year history.

Most recently, Imageworks completed work on Columbia Pictures’ MEN IN BLACK: INTERNATIONAL, Sony Pictures Animation’s Academy Award®-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse, and Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, Warner Bros. live-action feature The Meg, and Smallfoot for Warner Animation Group. The studio is currently in production on Spider Man: Far From Home Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, and The Angry Birds Movie 2 for Rovio Animation and Columbia Pictures.

Sony Pictures Imageworks was tasked with breaking the rules in order to create a stylised universe and bring Sony Pictures Animation’s Academy Award®-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse to the big screen. From animation to technology, artists were challenged with developing new tools and techniques to create a ground-breaking visual style for this fresh and highly original film, which introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where anyone can wear the mask.
