Stuart Sumida is confirmed to attend the BFX Family Weekend and present “Fantastic Creatures”
Stuart is a palaeontologist and animal anatomy consultant for animated films such as The Lion King and Stuart Little.
The talks will take place on Saturday 3 at 3-4pm and Sunday 4 at 2:30-3:30pm.
Stuart Sumida received his B.A. and Ph.D in Biology from UCLA, and later taught for the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago.
He is currently is a Professor of Biology at California State University San Bernardino.
He was named CSU System-wide Wang Professor of the Year in 2008, and Carnegie Institute of Washington California Professor of the Year in 2011.
He is a vertebrate palaeontologist with over 60 peer-reviewed publications, and is the most sought-after animal anatomy consultant in Hollywood, having worked on over 60 films, video games, and theme park rides.
His film credits range from Lion King, Tarzan, and How to Train Your Dragon. Recent work includes Life of Pi, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as upcoming projects with Disney Feature Animation, Pixar, DreamWorks, and MPC.
