We want you to get involved…

BFX is taking place 2nd – 8th October 2017. This will be our 5th Year anniversary and over the years we have attracted some of the biggest names in visual effects, animation and computer games to present a diverse range of practical and theoretical sessions to over 1,000 professionals, academics, students and graduates.  Studios and artists who have joined us include Disney Animation Studios, ILM, Iloura VFX, Aardman, Double Negative, MPC, Framestore, Chaos Group, Pixar, The Mill, Epic Games, Microsoft, Sony, Frontier Developments, Creative Assembly, Lionhead, Illumination MacGuff, Animal Logic, Dave McKean, Scott Eaton, Michael Defeo, The Foundry, Paul Kidby, Eric Shaw, SideFX, HDR Light Studio, Professor Stuart Sumida, Solid Angle, Autodesk, Playground Games, and Creative Assembly to name a few.

For 2017 we are looking for industry professionals, academics, studios and thought-leaders to work with us to build a program that demonstrates cutting edge industry practises and development, as well as the academic research which may (as appropriate) have direct application and impact within production.

We’re inviting submissions for BFX Core.

As outlined below we’re keen for you to present ideas, invoke debate and share knowledge and innovation through a diverse range of sessions. These include, but are not restricted to, workshops, presentations, discussions, panels with multiple short talks and chaired panels with debate topics. If you’d like to join us as presenter, speaker, demonstrator or panellist we’d love to hear from you by 2nd June 2017 using the forms below.

BFX Core – Production Processes and Practices

(Tuesday 3rd – Thursday 5th October 2017)

We are looking for submissions of visual media production (including but not limited to film, game and animation) that demonstrate innovation and working industry practices – aimed at students, graduates, professionals and hobbyists. Innovative solutions, insights, current and emerging techniques and workflows – any topic relating to creative media production that will provide up and coming talent with a valuable insight into the visual effects and animation industry.

We welcome submissions on all related topics but especially looking for presentations that cover Hard and Soft Modelling, Creature and Character Development & Effects, Environments, Digital Effects and Sets, 3D and 2D Animation, Asset Creation & Management. Deadline for submissions is the 13th June 2017.
