We are thrilled to announce that Hans Rijpkema from Rhythm and Hues will be taking one of our industry talks at BFX festival. Hans graduated from the University of Twente with a master’s degree in computer science. He went on to work at the National Institute for Computer Animation in the Netherlands as head of R&D, and as a teacher of computer graphics and animation for a master’s degree programme. In 1996 he came to Rhythm and Hues to start up the character rigging department.
He transitioned into the software department where he is now responsible for a wide variety of topics related to character development. Over the last 17 years Hans has worked on over 40 feature films including Mousehunt, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Cats and Dogs, Elf, Scooby Doo, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Night at the Museum, The Golden Compass, The Incredible Hulk, The A-Team, Hop, and Life of Pi.
