Workshop – An Introduction to Character Movement for Children & Young Adults

Through Games and Movement inspired improvisations we will look at the basics of character movement and how we can bring a character or creature to life both physically and vocally.  We shall start the class with a physical warm up and then explore the basics of character creation and movement.  We will then take some time to draw or sketch a creature or character of your choice, using your imagination as a source of inspiration. Don’t worry if you are not a great artist, we will have fun trying. To conclude the workshop we will explore bringing these drawn characters to life and see how they develop in terms of body language and personality.  You will be introduced to creative methods used by both professional actors and animators.

The class will be a combination of theory, practice, games/exercises, play and group work. Fun, yet informative. Please wear comfortable clothes to move in.
