The quality of submissions by all the applicants was impressive and the amount of commitment shown by the teams was nothing short of extraordinary, particularly as many of them where undertaking major projects and exams at the time. With the help of industry experts from Framestore, The Mill, Double Negative, Cinesite, MPC, Realise Studios, D’Arblay Films/Hibbert Ralph Animation and Creative Skillset as well as academics from BU and AUB; we shortlisted this to the 10 teams seen below.
Thanks once again to everyone who applied; and of course our industry partners and sponsor Next Limit for making this competition a reality. Enjoy the team pitches of our final contestants.

“All the judges were impressed at the amount of trouble that the entering
teamshad taken with their pitches, which varied from ‘professional’ to
‘amusingly off the wall’. The mentoring process will be both challenging
and fun – probably for all parties.”

“The first thing that struck me about the BFX competition was what a fantastic
opportunity it provides for new emerging talent to gain accessto Bournemouth
Universities facilities and industry mentorship. I wish I had an opportunity like
this whilst I was an undergrad. There was a diverse range of disciplines and talents,
great to see the use of traditional graphic techniques in the early concept and
boarding stages. The successful entrants will surely have a challenge ahead of them.
Competition will be high and I look forward to aiding the students in developing
their concepts and delivering stunning films.”
