Matisse Verheyden joined Toon Boom Animation in 2014. He studied at Cégep du Vieux Montréal where he earned a DEC in 2D Animation. He has worked in the Montreal animation industry for over 5 years. In his career he has worked at a half dozen studios assisting in a variety of productions as a Storyboard Artist, Animator, 2D Senior Rigger, Character Designer and Turnaround Artist.
Matisse worked for Oasis Animation, rigging and creating hundreds of puppets on multiple productions, ranging from Disney channel’s Lucky Fred to an episode of the American television series Community in which the main character has a dream in 2D animation, as well as some of Oasis’ proprietary-owned productions. As a 2D artist Matisse also worked at Fidel creating all of the visuals and UI for an Internet game based on Gravity Falls, a Disney TV-show. He also created character turnarounds for a 3D feature length film that is coming out in the future.
Matisse is an expert in Harmony and Storyboard Pro, training individuals and studios in software workflows and helping organizations build and refine their production pipelines. He is also skilled at product demonstrations. It’s a distinct privilege to have Matisse be part of the Toon Boom team.
